Capoeira Nordica Association (Y-1749995-2) was founded in 2002 as a non-profit organisation. The aim of our group is to form and develop independent and open capoeira community in Joensuu. Trainings are held by local practitioners, and we wish to keep the training expenses as low as possible in order to keep the group open for all.

Since the summer of 2003 we have been supported by Brazilian capoeira teacher Melqui Alexander and his group Luanda de Angola. Besides this a number of Finnish and Brazilian capoeira groups have given us their vital support. We organise several capoeira events throughout the year in Joensuu with guest teachers from different capoeira groups.

All international guests and newcomers are warmly welcome to our group. We want to offer you a great new past-time hobby, which might just well develop into a lifestyle!      

Trainings are currently held by Tuomas Järvenpää, Anna Venäläinen, Merit Kärki and Tuomas Kortelainen who have trained capoeira for several years.
